We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously..... (Romans 12:6-8a)
It is our mission to be the Hands and Feet of Christ by helping others. We hope to be able to use this blog as an outlet for opportunities to help others. May these stories touch your hearts but through them may God be glorified.

The Ripple Effect

If you are to throw a pebble in the water you will see a ripple effect. The same goes for the act of giving, caring, serving, and loving on others, just as God has called us all to do in our every day lives.   Its pretty neat to think one small donation, one kind word, hug, act of service can have such an effect on one person but then God uses that to have the same effect on another and another causing the ripple effect.   We were able to see this first hand actually right in our own family but it began with an act of kindness, "that pebble being thrown".   Due to my husband being in between jobs and myself being a stay at home mom, times were tight and are tight...one of the "stresses" that crossed our mind was school supplies and school clothes, but we knew all would be fine and God would provide for our needs as he has this past month with all of them.  The following day a neighbor knocked on the door with bag fulls of school supplies for our two children!   We are so very thankful and blessed and God used this neighbor to provide for our needs.  The same week we received a gift card for some school clothes, again God provided for us through using someone in this act of kindness.  This had an impact on all of us, especially my daughter.  So the ripples didn't stop..we were going to celebrate her birthday with a small birthday party and she requested that her friends bring school supplies instead of gifts!  She said I don't Need anything but others Do Need school supplies.  She is 9 years old and made a difference made an impact on others.   Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12     It doesn't matter how old or young you are, we all can have an impact on others.   Everyone that came and even others that didn't come donated school supplies.  Hundreds of dollars worth of school supplies were donated to Miracle Hill Children's Home due to a birthday wish and a loving heart.  Miracle Hill is still in need of boys back packs, they can be dropped of at the Wade Hampton office.  Please stay posted for more serving opportunities where we all can be the Hands and Feet of Jesus, no matter what age you are!

Carry Each Others Burdens Galatians 6:2

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.  But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.  For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.  Matthew 6:19

Hands and Feet group would like to thank you for your time, donations, and prayers.  We woke up bright and early this morning and headed to our yard sale location.  I had to slow down the car and take this snap shot of the start of our day.  One prayer already answered:  No Rain and beautiful morning!

We thank you for so many items donated.  We had everything from electronics, furniture, toys, baby items, clothes, houseware, and etc.  We wouldn't have had all of this if it wasn't for your thoughtful giving.  THANK YOU!  We sold so much and we give Him the Glory, we were trusting in Him to provide and He did. He provided items to sell and people to buy and donate.
We had the opportunity to meet many people today.  Some even asked us to pray for them as they were going through a tough time in their lives.  We hope that through this yard sale they know they too can trust in God to hear their prayers.

For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear, I will help you. Isaiah 41:13

Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Could you have said no to Lemonade or Bake Sale items with these cute faces selling?  (ok maybe I'm a little partial)

I know this lady couldn't say no.  Lilli would walk up to people asking if they wanted some lemonade, then she would stick her hand out for the 50 cents.

If you have not read Ashley's story yet scroll down to the previous post below and click on Ashley's story to see who this fundraiser was for.  Please continue to pray for her and her family as her surgery is scheduled for June 21st.  We still are raising funds for her, if you would like to donate please click on the Donate button located on the top right hand side of this blog. This will lead you through paypal.  We thank you so much for your donations and prayers.  An update will be posted soon after her surgery as well as our next helping project.

May our eyes be opened

As a group we were looking for an opportunity to serve and help others in our community.  Many times there are opportunities to serve after a disaster or a tragedy in other cities or helping others in third world countries, when so often the need is right where we live and may even be in our very own backyard.  We as a group are wanting to open our eyes to the lives that are around us and to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community.  The first helping project our eyes were opened to happens to be in our small group, GreenGroup.
God has placed it on our hearts to assist others in need and this family has a financial medical need that we would like to fulfill.  We are asking for your help in being able to provide for this mission.  We have several opportunities for you to be able to do so.  One way is through a yard sale on June 11th.  We are asking for items to be donated to be sold at the sale (Greenville,SC area) and ALL the proceeds will go to help this family.  If you need for us to pick up any items please e-mail us at:  handsandfeet.group@gmail.com or click on the e-mail button on the right hand side,  we would be more than happy to pick up the items.  Another opportunity to help would be right here on this blog.  Please read this story here: Ashley's Story, and if you feel led just press the donate button on this blog on the upper right hand corner. This allows you to donate any dollar amount from $1-? (Paypal will lead you through the easy steps).    We thank you so much for partnering with us in helping others.  Please check this blog often for any updates on people we have helped and also for any additional opportunities to serve.
