We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously..... (Romans 12:6-8a)
It is our mission to be the Hands and Feet of Christ by helping others. We hope to be able to use this blog as an outlet for opportunities to help others. May these stories touch your hearts but through them may God be glorified.

The Ripple Effect

If you are to throw a pebble in the water you will see a ripple effect. The same goes for the act of giving, caring, serving, and loving on others, just as God has called us all to do in our every day lives.   Its pretty neat to think one small donation, one kind word, hug, act of service can have such an effect on one person but then God uses that to have the same effect on another and another causing the ripple effect.   We were able to see this first hand actually right in our own family but it began with an act of kindness, "that pebble being thrown".   Due to my husband being in between jobs and myself being a stay at home mom, times were tight and are tight...one of the "stresses" that crossed our mind was school supplies and school clothes, but we knew all would be fine and God would provide for our needs as he has this past month with all of them.  The following day a neighbor knocked on the door with bag fulls of school supplies for our two children!   We are so very thankful and blessed and God used this neighbor to provide for our needs.  The same week we received a gift card for some school clothes, again God provided for us through using someone in this act of kindness.  This had an impact on all of us, especially my daughter.  So the ripples didn't stop..we were going to celebrate her birthday with a small birthday party and she requested that her friends bring school supplies instead of gifts!  She said I don't Need anything but others Do Need school supplies.  She is 9 years old and made a difference made an impact on others.   Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12     It doesn't matter how old or young you are, we all can have an impact on others.   Everyone that came and even others that didn't come donated school supplies.  Hundreds of dollars worth of school supplies were donated to Miracle Hill Children's Home due to a birthday wish and a loving heart.  Miracle Hill is still in need of boys back packs, they can be dropped of at the Wade Hampton office.  Please stay posted for more serving opportunities where we all can be the Hands and Feet of Jesus, no matter what age you are!
